Join Our Teen Champion Summer Program
The Golden PAWS Assistance Dogs Teen Champion Program provides an opportunity for teens to contribute to their community, develop unique skills, and explore the exciting and complex world of service dog training.
Target Audience: Teens ages 14-17, with parental consent.
Program Overview: Golden PAWS staff and senior volunteers will provide guidance and training for teens to assist with the total care and training of service dogs and our state of the art, world class training facility. Additionally, participants will learn cooperative skills while working in a positive and constructive working environment. Volunteer positions can lead to employment along with career development and support.
Program Summary: Participation in volunteering instills empathy, builds confidence, and inspires a sense of citizenship while assisting young people to define pathways to meaningful education and work. Through active participation, our Teen Champion members learn vital life-skills, develop knowledge about, and promote positive civil action.
Due to the complex nature of our work, our applicants should possess the following attributes:
- Must love dogs.

Able to commit to a flexible schedule (2 days a week minimum) Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday.

Exhibit cooperation and dedication in a complex team working environment.
